6 Years!

YEP that is right, we have been married for 6 wonderful years! I feel like sharing our story with all of you so bear with me.......

We met when we were around the age of 12 at a horse show. My mom says, she did not even know that boys were on my radar yet but there I was walking, holding hands with a boy in the middle of nowhere, Nebraska. Literally it felt like the middle of nowhere to me. It would take us 6 hrs to get to this Ranch and the road to get to the Huffman ranch was an hr long on a one lane road. It was always such a fun time though. They would have steak feed every night with dancing. The stars were always so bright! We continued to write each other letter, call each other, and see each other at horse shows in the summer. We lived about 5-6 hours apart (depends who is driving, haha). We were young and really were not mature enough to handle the distance. During the summer we would give it a try and about 1/2 way through the school year, we would break up. This went on for many years.

So right before our senior year of high school we called it quits for good. We were done. He was going to the military and I had my eye on colleges with a tennis program. So we lost contact, we did not talk on the phone, write letters, email, and I did not go to the horse shows anymore. I did however keep in contact with his mom. She emailed me about when he left for boot camp, when he grad. boot camp, and then when he was going to Iraq. His mom asked me to write him since we were friends from way back and he could use the encouragement. I wrote to him but it took me a while. He was with some of the 1st troops to go over, literally waiting at the boarder for the war to be declared. He was constantly on the move. My letter took about 2 months to reach him. The mail system is much better over there now that things are established. He will probably kill me for saying this but he was standing in line to call his parents to tell them he was coming home (he was active duty and had been there for 7 months). All the guys were talking about what they were going to do. Brent said he was going to get back into contact with a girl he used to know. Not even 5 min later, his name was called out that he had mail. He went to go get it, it was my letter. He started jumping up and down, saying "it's from her." Then the guys around him started jumping up and down. Cute right! They wanted him to read my letter out loud but he didn't. His chaplain then came up to him and said he did not need to worry about anything else in this world but finding me because it was fate! He wrote me and came home and the rest is pretty much history! I love my husband!

Old Man Winter

I forgot to mention a couple of things from the last post. When Grammy Foreman comes down she ALWAYS takes the girls (Kim, Audrey and I) out to eat at the Olive Garden. Audrey is following in the family footsteps and LOVES pasta! Much to our surprise she also loves Tiramisu which we always have room for when we are done eating. Other crazy things she likes is medium salsa, peppermints, mint chocolate, pumpkin pie, and guacomole. In my opinion those all have very distinct tastes and she likes them. Eating at the Olive Garden with the girls is something I always look so forward to doing with my MIL.

Grammy Foreman had some shopping to do. We were looking at ceiling fans and you can look and look and then you see something you did not see before. Audrey was getting tired of our little "game" of ring around the isle and she started playing herself. She would lay down on the boxes pretending she was going night night and then go into them playing a game of peak a boo with us. The boxes were all arranged around a shelf that was up higher so she had quite the little stake out. She was quite dusty when she got out.

We had our first snow of the year. I am very sad to see winter approaching. I could live in fall weather year round! Audrey on the other hand loves being outside no matter what temp it is outside. She loved watching the snow fall and yes we had to go out into it! It was dark outside though so I did not get pictures. The colder weather also means we have started using our wood stove. I love the smell our house has from the wood stove and not to mention the savings in our pocket books! Anytime Daddy goes outside, Audrey goes outside. So she was being a trooper and helping daddy carry wood inside, while mommy opened the door.

Carrying a BIG piece all by herself. Daddy tried to give her a bigger piece and her response was "It's TOOO big, Daddy." I absolutely love seeing Brent with Audrey. He grew up with 2 brothers, so his experience with a girly girl is pretty much non-existent. Audrey thinks she is a Princess. We went out to eat the other night and Audrey had to wear her dress up princess gown over her clothes and then for her shoe's cowboy boots. Too funny! One more funny story before I sign off. We have these ladybug's that come into our house in the fall and one landed on Audrey's hand. She started screaming bloody murder so Brent rushed over to her to see what was wrong thinking she really hurt herself or something. Turns out it was just a bug. His expression was priceless to say the least.

Happy Halloween everyone a bit late! Audrey loved halloween this year and call's her candy her trick or treating candy. She loved walking around to peoples houses in her costume as a butterfly. She was so proud of herself in that costume! Which a couple of days later she had to wear it when we went to walmart. Everyone thought she was cute!

This year was a bit different from the previous 2 years. Since I knew Audrey would enjoy it this year we did not go to Lincoln to see family and friends except for my mom earlier in the day. Grandpa and Grandma Foreman were also down this year for the big event. Kim took all the pictures and I am very grateful she did! Waverly has an awesome event for all the kids. The business's all open and the kids can go there and trick or treat. Audrey's pumpkin was full just from all the business's. In the park they had a hot dog feed and train rides. Audrey LOVES trains!

Of course since Uncle John lives in Waverly we also had to stop by his house! Audrey adores her Uncle John.

After trick or treating was over, we went to a Haunted House with my great friend Erin and her husband. Another thanks to my mother in law because she watched the kiddo's for us. It was a fun time. The best part was they got Brent GOOD! I've never seen him jump before but I have now! Erin's husband also ran into the wall's that looked like you could walk through them twice. It was pretty funny. He just smacked right into them.
